I'm building an new mendel with very easily avaible parts.

I use 20*20 square aluminum tube wall 1.5mm so i get an inner square 17*17mm.

all the parts are from ABS printed on my prusa

the size is slightly bigger than a prusa specially in height.

I use 4* 10 mm threaded rod and 10mm smooth rods 3LM10UU bearings

there is enough room for a double extruder

no special part difficult to buy

vertical installation for the X axis for easier access to the extruder and easy fitting with fan for the upper side of the hotend and the part for pla

I can post more pic and file as soon as the printer is finished, I'm building the frame for now

do you have suggestion ?

do you find it interesting ?

the good point is the price of the tubes 5 euro the meter you need 4 for the printer, 2 meter of low grade threaded rod 10mm 1 meter of high grade inox threaded rod for the z axis (in france inox threaded rod are machined instead of rolled , meaning the thread are of very good quality) 3 meters off 10mm smooth rod

Here some picture of the frame

the total cost of the aluminum square tube is around 20 euro (no more than 30 or go to an another shop !)

it is quite stiff even if all the pieces are not screwed an lighter than a normal mendel

the plastic parts are in ABS

10 mm smooth and threaded rod

do you think a file for thingiverse would be useful ?
