Extruder pulsing

Hi All, I'm new to RAMPS and Marlan so please excuse my total noobieness.

I'm just setting up RAMPS 1.4 using Marlan and I am only in the testing phase. My extruder is pulsing, instead of just running from the control panel in replicatorG. I am guessing that it has something to do with commandPeriod but I have no idea where that came from.

Thanks for any help on this.

Jim

i'm not sure about marlin, but this sounds like a driver chip is cutting out, possibly from overheating and causing thermal protection to kick in. try turning down the current settings of the driver you are using, or add a fan and heat sink on top of the extruder driver.

I tried printrun and the extruder worked just fine. It looks like it is a replicatorg issue, and has nothing to do with the firmware.
Thanks,
Jim
