Marlin 1.0.0 - Upgrade y/n ?
February 18, 2015 02:40PM
Im currently running Marlin v1.0.0 and have never completed a full firmware upgrade to a new version. Ive tweaked a few settings as I go with success. I just wondered if upgrading to 1.0.2 would provide any noticeable print quality benefits i.e. worth the upgrade........... I am currently thinking "If it ain't broke don't fix it"

Also if I go down the firmware upgrade route is it just a case of retaining the config.h file and updating the rest of the files

thanks

Graham

If you don't have a coreXY or other issues you don't need to flash a newer one.

also If you dont know the intimate details of your printer, eg theremister types, controller board type etc

Its not advisable you upgrade your firmware.. you will spend a month working out the orriginal settings.
