Marlin compilation error

Marlin compilation error

This is the main error that I get when I try to run my Arduino program. The full list of errors is as follows:

avrdude: stk500v2_ReceiveMessage(): timeout
avrdude: stk500v2_ReceiveMessage(): timeout
avrdude: stk500v2_ReceiveMessage(): timeout
avrdude: stk500v2_ReceiveMessage(): timeout
avrdude: stk500v2_ReceiveMessage(): timeout
avrdude: stk500v2_ReceiveMessage(): timeout
avrdude: stk500v2_getsync(): timeout communicating with programmer



It shows up in the Device Manager and all of my connections are correct. I have Windows 7 and my arduino is a MEGA 2560.The green light is on and so is the flashing Blue light. How is the problem?? i need help.. sad smiley
It is Arduino 1.0.6

Verify that the correct board and port are selected in the Arduino IDE...

I have exactly the same problem as Jarteaga. (with a macbook version 10.9.5 / MEGA 2560 / Arduino 1.0.6 / and the Marlin Firmware)
The correct board and port are selected.
I hope that somebody can help us! smiling smiley

Hi, I solved the problem.
My problem was that I hadn't installed the arduino drivers.
For your computer accept the Arduino board, you must install the drivers for FTDI processor, these drivers are within the files that you downloaded.
Installation in windows, it is assumed that in MAC is same.
"Control Panel \ System and Security \ System"), enter "Device Manager" and see that there is a device listed as unknown, right click and we give "update driver software ".

Thanks Jarteaga, indeed the problem was the FTDI driver.
