I have almost finished a Prusa type machine. Running Sprinter on a Ramps V1.4 board. All is very well, X, Y & Z axis calibrating nicely; hot end and thermistor working correctly. The only problem was that the E axis motor made quite a lod noise and vibrated quite a bit when powered. It turned out the the wiring was incorrect. With the wiring fixed the motor just twitches when powered. I have swapped it out with the X axis and the motor runs fine, X twitches when run on E stepper driver. Swapping the drivers made no difference. Changing firmware and Printerface settings made no difference.
How do I remap the Ramps board to use the second extruder motor control?
