Hi,
I just came across this thread and wanted to ask more about it.
Is there any consensus on what is the best way to heat up metal filament?
Aluminum and magnesium have melting points of 660ºC and 650ºC respectively - are there any ideas on how to achieve these temperatures?
What are the challenges and obstacles here?
What are the different possible methods? What are their pro's and cons?
There was another thread about heating iron powder using magnetic induction - what kind of temperatures can be achieved with a magnetic induction extrusion head? Can magnetic induction be used to heat the powder/wire/filament itself, rather than the extrusion head? If not then why not?
