Hi all!

I've been searching for 8mm rods for over a week, but I managed to find only tubes like this:

.

Do you think would it be good to replace the rods?

thanks in advance!

Are they precision ground? Are they hardened?

Are you're only looking local? There are many places that will ship it to almost anywhere in the world.

I've used 3/8" aluminum tube with bronze bushings on my Funbot's X and Y axis. I did this as the weight of the axis is pretty light. I wasn't sure how well it would work, but I've run the machine pretty steady for a couple months and it has worked very well.

Here's a pic of TriTom track drive wheel printed on the Funbot.

Pic taken on second Funbot build with aluminum tubes and PLA bushings.
