Be aware that the brass will wear a little where the bearing rows are inside the linear bearings.
I'd think that the brass would quickly wear with the hardened balls used in a linear bearing. If a bushing or printed 'bearing" was used, then hardness is less of a factor.
I'd also be concerned about flexing and bending with brass over steel shafts.
