Hi!

Do somebody know on what the Mendel is supposed to stand?

I always thought on the 4 frame-vertex. As I have put together the frame all the bearings under the frame are lower than the four corners (frame-vertex).

Now I want to put the z threaded rod, but the gears are the lowest points of the machine. So it does not stand anymore.

Can anybody clear this up for me please?

In doubt I can put some pictures online.

It does sit on it vertices.

You can post pictures up on photobucket for example and paste the image links here.
That would be better for us to help, if we could see where your problem is.

Hmm, looks like a bug. In the video presentation by Ed you can see that it sits on the frame vertices, but in the 3D model the nuts on the z-axis rods are slightly below that. Also several M4 bolts are a long way below, but you could just shorten them.

Perhaps a work round would be to fit some stick on rubber feet. Probably good for noise reduction as well.

I have watched several times, for observing, and for me it looks like there is shadow under the frame vertex, so it does not touch the surface.

I will post definietly some photos this evening. Just want to mount everything. (just finished cutting to length the linears shafts).

I ran into this too. My solution was to file the bottom m8 nuts thickness to almost half. That left a little bit of clearance between them and the counter my Mendel sits on.

I noticed when looking at the 3D model, that the 4 screws used for the power connector are effectively upside down, such that there is not enough clearance.

Else the problem may be a tolerance thing with washers and nuts

Grogyan: you mean the z-leadscrew-base part should be upside-down?

Or should the whole stuff (gears, bearings and also the belt) go at the top? (ie. above the z-leadsrew-base part)

Thanks for the tip, I will experiment with it.

The z-leadscrew-base is upside down compared to the 3D assembly I am looking at.

All of which could are upside down, as is in the photo I posted from the blog, and in your photo too
