SourceForge OBJRCT FILE - Please Help
December 03, 2009 03:01PM
Hello everyone,

So I'm in the process of making a RepRap Darwin - very exciting.
But, printing the parts can be a hassle.

My question is:

I've gone to SourceForge and downloaded the latest (Cartesian Bot 1.0.6) object file.

So do I basically need to get everything that's in there printed? which is like 62 files (Well, except the pulleys if I'm buying them).

HOWEVER, DO I ONLY NEED TO PRINT ONE OF EACH? I'm looking at the RepRap and I see many corner brackets, or the Diagonal-tie-brackets.

How do I find out how many of each I need to print? Is it only ONE of each? or there's somewhere that tells me how many?

PLEASE HELP.

THanks,
Mahdi

grab the files from subversion, they're named frame_vertex_6off.stl which tells you that you need 6 of them

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.
However, I cannot find a file named frame_vertex_60ff.stl, or anything close to that.

Here's the link: [sourceforge.net]

For the subversion, there is trunk, tags, branches, and I cannot find the object files anywhere in there.

Please get back to me and help me out with this issue.

Thanks,
Mahdi

HOW ABOUT DARWIN?

I just noticed you had the Mendel.

Please help...

Thanks,

Any particular reason you want to stick with the Darwin? I've built 2 Darwins and one Mendel, and the Mendel was way easier to work with so far.

The Darwin part counts can be found here:
[parts.reprap.org]

Click on the + symbol next to the Printed Part heading.

Also, you can get away without every single one of those parts - here's a listing of what I built for the last Darwin I printed out. I generally use MXL pullies, and don't bother with things like the jigs or the bed clamp brackets.
