Magma Hot End assembly problems
January 19, 2014 10:18AM
Hi all! I'm trying to finish up my Makerfarm 6" Prusa i3, but I've run into a snag with the Magma Hot End. It won't fit into the mounting plate (see attached pics). Either the plate isn't wide enough or the hot end is thicker than it should be. Colin offered to send me a replacement, but I wanted to see if anyone here had a similar problem/or has ideas for how to get around it?

Thanks!

Could you maybe not open two topics in two different forums for this question?

I had the same issue with mine. I put in the lathe and skimmed a little bit off the hotend body with a parting tool till it fitted perfectly.
I haven't tried it yet as I am still building my machine. They don't seem to get a good rap though. Does anyone have a good news story about them?

They're no good with PLA and keep a fan on that radiator at all times.
