Printed bushing longevity

In the course of reassembling my printer last time, I think I may have damaged some of my lm8uu bearings on my z axis. I think that when I tried putting them on the rods, they were not fully aligned and a large number of bearings fell out of them. Since they were cheap ones off of eBay, I figured it would be nice to replace them, possibly with the printed PLA bushings off thingiverse.

Two questions:

1) How well do they work, especially on the z axis? Do they last a reasonable amount of time? Do you sacrifice print accuracy with them?
2) Which variant is best? The self centering ones look nice, but do they make any appreciable difference compared to the igus style, or any other for that matter?

I've been using these on my Z axis for several months. Seem to work as good as any other- no wear yet.
