hi, i am building a new design reprap inspired by the others. for the z axis, i want to use m8 screw 2 nuts and a spring for the backlash like many reprap desgigns.
But, how is the is the first nut hold in place in the hexagonal block?

First nut? Do you mean the lower one? If so, the nut is held captive by the weight of the X axis. If you mean the upper nut, the nut "floats", under spring pressure, in the hex "tube".
