PTFE tube geting clogged and being pushed into Hotend HELP!
March 08, 2013 04:32PM
My printer was doing so well, had a dozen small prints done and then it clogged durring a print. I stoped it and poked somethign through the extrusion hole but couldnt unclog it. I tried multiple things I read on the net and couldnt get it unclogged. So I dissasembled it.

This is what I found.

The PTFE tube got clogged and then the fillament pushed it into the nosel.

It was stuck so I had to pull prety hard to get it out. Once out I had to push the melted plastic out of the PTFE tube(not an easy task mind you). I reassembled it with the tube in the middle of the insulator, everything seemed to feed ok.

I was able to get it to extrude and print but the layers were very thin, the first print was half the hight of first set of prints. Eventually it clogged again, i took it apart, same problem. The PTFE tube is a bit crimped but i have ran an allen wrench in and out and the fillament runs smooth through it.

I have dissasembled this hotend atleast a dozen times, i have more PTFE tube ordered but dont know if that will fix it.

Can anyone help?
