What is the advantage of a laser cutting machine?

Someone can tell me what is the advantage of a laser cutting machine?

... cutting bits will wear out, lasers not

Advantage over what?

They really are quiet. (compared to router)
You get to wear cool red glasses (eye protection)

If the laser is powerful (and very expensive) you can cut just about anything really fast

Can use lighter mechanicals to move around laser (or just optics from laser)

I run a 2200w laser 5days a week. It can cut most wood @ 100-200 in/min. .125" mild steel is at 60 in/min'ish ... I can do it all day long literally... all that needs to be done is putting more material on the table. no tools, no offsets. it just runs... on gas... (mostly nitrogen)
