A question for the laser experts, not about engravers but,
As slow progress is made on my DLP 3dprinter, I am now thinking of different light sources,
the plan is to have interchangable "lamps" including a 405nm laser, can anyone advise me on
a goog one to buy, preferably with driver, and the optics needed (I assume) to defocus the spot
into the light gate, will I need a beam expander?.

I understand that 405nm does not harm the dlp protective coating, whilst cureing uv resin???.

... the best methode for 'averaging' the beam of a 405nm-diodelaser is a 1mm PMMA fiber as light-feeder and 'harmonizer' and then a simple lens to collimate the beam to fit into the light tunnel.

See the attached images in this post ( [forums.reprap.org] ) for a comparison of direct diode output and 'averaging' through a fiber ...
