Ramps spindle issues

Hey all
im having some weird issues with ramps i was hoping someone could help me with. im running a small cnc with a 600w spindle and ramps 1.4. when i turn on my spindle, around 3/4 of the time my lcd(reprapdiscount smart controller) garbles and repeatedly mounts/dismounts my sd card. i have no idea what other terror its doing on the board. does anyone have a soution to this or have had it happen before. the spindle is electrically isolated(well plugged in in the next room) i have no idea what would even cause this.

... try to shield the cables to LCD and SD with a grounded net or metal foil ... and/or filter the input power with bigger capacitors ...
