I am looking for software reccomendations to do a fairly simple task. What I would like to do is take an image and use the mill im building to etch the image into some wood. Any reccomendations on software that could do this fairly easily?

Depends what you mean by etch, try DOTG for engraving or B2G for relief, both are free and work well.
