Azteeg X5 GT + BigFoot drivers BSD2100 : Help !
February 21, 2017 01:01PM
Hello,

There is very few information about BSD2100 Bigfoot drivers on Azteeg X5 GT MB (almost none actually). But I decided to order that combination to have smoothieware with removable drivers.
I've moved forward little by little but now, I'm stucked.
As soon as I power the board, all stepper coils receive +VCC (12V). So the stepper motor is making lot of noise while in idle position (no move). I wonder if anyone here has got experience with this combination and could provide me help.

"Bigfoot BSD2100 - Based on TMC2100. Quiet and smooth. Jumpers to modify settings."

panucatt.com product... seem to only be available as an option with a Azteeg X5 GT

TMC2100 are generally quite noisy at 12V (unbearably so for me), you should consider running them at 24V. If you don't want to swap out your power supply, you can use a step-up converter to raise your 12V to 24V (this is easy on the X5 GT due to the separate voltage input for the motors). I use this one from eBay on my CoreXY.
