I'm having some trouble with the SD card reader on my smart controller from reprapdiscount. I recently replaced my reprapdiscount RAMPS shield with one from SainSmart (long story). I assumed that these would be interchangeable and for the first couple of runs everything worked just fine but suddenly the SD card reader reads "no card." I do get "card inserted" when the card is first placed.
I've tried the following:
Blow out SD card slot
Send M21 - returns "error: echo: SD init fail"
Check continuity of cables and connections - all are in tact
Re format the SD card (FAT).
Reformat 2 other SD cards of various sizes (have now tried 2,4,8 GB cards).
Is there something different about the SainSmart shield? Is there a bad solder connection on the board (where should I look)? Any help is appreciated.
