Power a duet without components

Guys i was wondering if i could damage my duet if i ll start plugging some of the things i have. I mean i only have one stepper and the heaters . If i plugged them is it possible to damage the board? Also if i plugged them without the sensors ( endstops, proximity, thermistors ) will it work ?

I also think it would be ok to just power it on through the usb power and upload firmware . Am i wrong ?

It won't harm it not to have stepper motors connected. Yes you can power it from USB, upload the firmware and test the web interface - except that if you use a laptop to connect the USB, the laptop may not provide enough USB power. So best use a desktop PC or a USB hub.

... but never unplugg or connect stepper with power ON - this will most likely kill the driver eye rolling smiley
