You could design a single board RepRap controller, comprising the controlling AVR and all needed stepper drivers and so on.

If it were single-sided, that would help self-fabbers of the PCB.

It would probably be a nice addition to the project and cut costs.

Hi,

I need a single-side PCB because the double-side PCB need a connection between two sides. And that is very hard to find someone in Tabriz (My hometown in Iran) to do that. Here say "Metalizing" for connecting two side of PCB throw holes.

Single-sided versions of RepRap electronics exist already: [www.thingiverse.com]

Some of the Pololu electronics designs are single-sided or don't require vias either: [reprap.org]
