Weird Problem with Ramps
October 12, 2014 01:06PM
Hey Guys,

I'm having this weird problem with my Ramps board.
The motors of all axes work fine when i connect them to the Y-axis pins but do not when i connect them to their respective pins.
For example when i connect the X-axis motor to the Y-axis pins,it works fine but when i connect it to its own pins it just doesn't work!!
Changed the stepper drivers but definitely no problems with that.
Varied the Potentiometer but no results there.
Is there any problem with the pins?
Is there any way i can check the voltage of the Ramps board without the stepper drivers ?

Please Advise!!

First check your firmware, that your board type is set to ramps, type 33 or 34 for most people in marlin.

Secondly you can check the select, step and direction lines going to each pololu module. they are just 0 or 5v signals from the mega

I wouldnt check 12v on the pololus, to many people end up shorting this to 5v by accident and destroying the boards. I would turn it off, unplug the ramps it and check continuity from the +12 on the 5amp plug to the vmot pins of the pololus

Check your endstop settings in marlin.
