help with electronics
March 25, 2010 11:59AM
Hi

I am having a little problem with the capacitor on the motherboar, the instructions
say to use a smoothing capacitor, but the only one i can find is 400v so don´t think
this will be suited. Any body know where to find one or any way of improvising to
get round the problem.

thanks in advance.

the voltage for a capacitor is insignificant as long as you stay under it. What you really need to pay attention to is the capacitance - usually in microfarads (uF) or farads (F).

Hi wayland, thanks for the help, it´s the wright capacitance (100 uf), so i´ll go
ahead and give it a try, it´s just unnaturally big in size for the motherboard
so if any knows of where to fine something more appropiate would be useful.
