Any ideas where to get stepper motors from? particularly Nema17 with enough holding torque. Preferably with good shipping to europe...

Cheaper here in the UK, don't know if they ship to Europe: [www.slidesandballscrews.com]

The nanotechs are a bit pricy...

The UK guys look good and they ship to Europe. Nice one nophead! Do you use their motors?

I use an identical spec one from MotionControl in my extruder. The only difference is the Zapp ones have a dual shaft, shorter leads and are half the price.

I have ordered some for my Mendel.

First let me caveat this by saying I have not built my extruder yet. I'm still working on assembling the basic electronics.

But I did find these Lin Engineering steppers:

4218L-01-11

4218L-01D-02

Can anyone confirm/deny that these would work for an extruder?

Edit: Sorry, misread the initial post about shipping to Europe. It seems they will ship to different countries, but I have no knowledge of the shipping cost.

They look like they have enough torque. 0.5Nm at 2A compared to 0.4Nm at 1.7A for the one Adrian uses.
