Gen 7 SetupTest.
May 12, 2013 07:52AM
I've managed to install the Gen7 components into the Arduino IDE. I can select Gen7 with ATMega1284P and 20Mhz. 2 different serial ports have shown up dev/tty.usbmodem1d11 and dev/cu.usbmodem1d11 I'm using dev/tty.usbmodem1d11

I've tried to upload the SetupTestgen7 sketch and this is what happens?

Any clues?

Timeout means, there's no communications happening at all. Possible reasons: wrong baud rate (should be 115200), no bootloader on the ATmega (if you have a factory fresh one), messed up USB (unplug, wait 3 seconds, re-plug), no juice (the yellow LED should be lighted), etc.

Shes's alive!

It was a hardware problem! I didn't have 5V on pin 9, I corrected a bridged joint and as soon as I applied power the SetupTest ran.

The heater LED isn't blinking, but I'm a long way from needing that!

I uploaded the SetupTest again just to make sure communication was working, and it went in first time, and the serial monitor reported the progress.

Next step is to install teacup and get my motors moving!

Thanks Traumflug! If I can build this anyone can.
