So, my hybrid machine has a jhead (1.75/.4mm) and i'm using a Makerbot 3.6 Extruder Controller.
I think that 3.6 board was developed for a cartridge heater, 12V 40W, that is large versus the compact brass hotend. (hotends.com!)
Does anyone know if the resistor for the Jhead can be used and not the cartridge heater?
makerbot say to use the cartridge, but I wonder if the board can be programmed or modified or used as is.
Also, I am going to use the thermocouple and not the included thermistor.
Any advice on the securing of the junction to the brass block?
There is a hole but it is large verus the thermocouple.
Should I tap a hole and trap the tc to an area under a washer?
Thanks!
