Hi is it possible to add an extra shield to ramps 1.4?.. because i need a ethernet interface to control the stepper motors via the internet..

There are enough pins available to do it, you're probably not going to find anything that will plug right in.
AFAIK there is also no support fro ethernet in the common firmwares.
I have a board I just picked up to mess with for a similar project.

So it's possible... Is there some kinda ethernet that is not a shield which i can use in ramps?

You can connect anything designed for an arduino, but not just by plugging it in, the Ramps is just a breakout board with some logic to do all the usual printer functionality.
Do a search for "ENC28J60 Ethernet", AFAICS it just uses an SPI serial interface.

Thanks I'm reading on it now.. this might work.. I'm just confused with something.. with this i can use any pins of arduino for the spi interface?

You'd have to the SPI pins, they usually are used for the SDCard on RAMPS, or do some sort of software SPI bit banging.

Okay thanks.. so some kinda of bit mapping in the software?.. One more question is it also possible for the POE?
