Minimum power supply rating w/no heatbed

I'm considering a something like the Portabee, but without a heated bed. ...I'll use PLA exclusively.

I'd like to use the smallest power supply I can get away with. How many watts to I need?

Is there a chart somewhere with various hot-end power requirements? How much extra for the electronics and 5 steppers?

I run my prusa and my early Tantillus prototypes off of a 12v 5A 60watt power supply and the production Tantillus' use a 15v 5/6A 90watt power supply. The extra voltage helps with faster moves and faster heat up time of the hotend. The extra wattage is just for safety.

12V / 5A is regarded as the average sufficient enough value for a reprap without a heated bed.
I'm not sure you'd be making a real save on anything by using something smaller, and "getting away with" might be something that fluctuates depending on weather conditions, type of object you print etc.

I mean keeping a margin is better. But feel free to experiment winking smiley

Most of my technical comments should be correct, but is THIS one ?
Anyway, as a rule of thumb, always double check what people write.
