Stepper Trimpot issue

Hi,

I brought this stepstick.

I soldered the legs then attached it to my RAMPS. After powering up and running the test code there is no movement.

So I went to adjust the trimpot (that is the correct name for it right), counter clockwise until it locks then clockwise 25%. The only trouble is the trimpot never locks or stops.

I contacted the supplier and got this response.
There are no stops to these trimpots.
But you can adjust the current limit by measuring the voltage on the trimpot dial.
Adjust the voltage to 0.7 x max stepper current.

Which of the 3 contacts (1 top, 2 bottom) do I connect my multimeter to test the voltage?

Thanks in advance,

Joe

hard to tell without the schematics. But on the 'normal' stepstick [reprap.org] it would be the left pad and upper right. If your multimeter supports measuring resistance, you might want to use that to determine how far the trimpot is open.

Cheers, I'll give it a go tonight.

Its a slightly different layout to the ones you sell (I brought the full RAMPS DIY kit from you a while back).
