leveling wheel

I just printed a set of leveling wheels to make bed leveling easier. I seems the 3 mm nuts don't stay in the opening made for them. How have you gotten them to stay?
PLA slurry added with a art brush?

You can use any glue you like, or change the design by scaling it down in your slicer until it fits tight.

Alternatively, you can make the model so that the nuts are enclosed.
Print until the layers are high enough to cover the nuts, pause, insert nuts, continue printing.
Captive nuts are so much more secure.

Why doesn't the bolt or threaded rod hold the nut in place?

The nuts don't *need* to stay in the plastic, just place them whichever way around they won't fall off. They only have to be tight enough to grip the nut. My personal option is heat press insert the nut. Make the nut hole slightly too small, heat up nut and drop in place. Not too hot, just hot enough to slightly melt plastic. Can also use a soldering iron to heat nuts, but a lighter will do.

If you have brass inserts that is the best solution, yes.
Also my preferred solution.

That's an odd way of using nuts. The nuts are free to move in or out. They only rely on the friction between the nut and the pla to keep them in place. How hard can it be to design a proper seat for the nuts?

Not hard.

I do it in the Dual Nimble. Little nubs that allow you to click in a nut and the nut will stay in there.
Even when positioned on the Chimera they do not fall out and still have enough room to "settle" and be pulled tight.

Is a standard component in my design library now.
