Ramps->tb6600->stepper (power input question)

So I have a quick question.

If I am using ramps 1.4 as a cnc only controller,
Do I need to hook up 12v to the power inputs if I have the USB cable plugged in either via PC or USB Wall plug?

I won't be needing the D8, D9, D10 outputs.
My motors are opto isolated in the driver itself, it only needs 5v signals, which I assume as long as the board is powered via usb it will accomplish this task.

Once this is answered and my drivers arrive I will post a pic of my setup once completed.

If you don't feed the drivers Vmot through the Ramps, you don't need 12V.

Thanks! I kind of figured that out while waiting for a reply. I made a breakout board that will adapt the pololu socket to screw terminals for use on TB6600 (or any other) drivers that accept 5v signals.
