Mesh bed levelling problems

Hi there all.
I have just uploaded the newest version of Marlin onto my printer and am trying to get the mesh bed levelling to work. Ive managed to go through the procedure and save it to EPROM (i can tell because even after turning the power off and on again and sending the printer to home, it will hit the z end stop and then move down to hit the bed just as it should. I can also move the x and y axis manually and see the z stepper adjusting. I am also seeing the offset values in my pronterface terminal after the M421 echo). problem is, whenever i try to print something it seems to forget those z offset values (i can see that the z steppers arent doing anything). The annoying this is that i did get this working once. I have no idea what i did different but i watched it work perfectly. And now I cant get it to work again.angry smiley
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks,
Dan,
