Ello

I was connecting the endstops on my prusa i3 with ramps 1.4 electronics from sainsmart.

And it started smoking, obviously I shorted pins on the endstop section, I think the voltage pins. The screen still shows the text but very dimming cos all the squares on the display are filled. I can't find the burnt part but I'm assuming that the arduino mega is damaged.

Anyone can help me how to proceed?

Much thanks and have a good day

OK I think I'm being stupid I see the pins are connected directly to the mega so I must have connected the voltage directly to input and Mr mega burnt out a bit

Hey, this is a somewhat common mistake. The Mega doesn't like this.

You can use the search for more on this topic.
Here an explanation on what to do to fix the 5v regulator on your Mega:

It's common with the sainsmart kits that people mess up the endstop part.

You connected the end stop wire the wrong way around. If you have the magic smoke then you may have lost.
