just wanted to ask a question, What is a Clone? in a 3d-printer design?

In the 3D printing field, a clone might also be a version of a product not produced nor sold by the original designer. The clone may or may not be up to the original's specifications.

For example, the poor quality J-head hotend knock-offs that cause so many trouble to the poor users who buy them (or get them with their printer kits).

The word is misused a lot. A clone would be an accurate copy.

the word counterfeit fits better, but some people were offended by it so clone stuck
