Hello there, I have a question regarding tuning/calibrating the a4988 driver. I have both the pololu and stepstick drivers, running them on 40ohm steppers and I was curious as to how I can use my oscilloscopes to probe the driver and check for missed steps. I noticed from this blog (http://hydraraptor.blogspot.com/2009/07/lessons-from-a3977.html) that HydraRaptor viewed his driver (a3977) through his scope to check the current.
Is it possible to view the A4988 driver with my scope? If so then where am I looking to probe?
I have a few scopes but I am still a novice user and am a little confused at what I am seeing on the datasheets for the drivers.
I have used to methods of calibrating these drivers by ear and with a DMM, but I am curious if I can use my scope to view the waveforms like shown in HydraRaptor blogs.
