diy pick&place and solder paste dispenser

Saw a modded cnc mill on hack a day, it can dispense solder paste and do pick&place. Looks really simple, a reprap with a special head should be able to do this as well. I especially like the centering trick.

Yeah that looks good, i saw it this morning too. It seemed to use use solder paste dispenser to pick up the components so i guess it must reverse the dispenser to create suction or something. I have a micro blowtorch which is not much bigger than a disposable lighter. Maybe something like this could be be used to melt the solder paste. I wouldn't like to leave a reprap unsupervised with it though

On hackaday and others they have a hot air reflow made from de-solderer ( with the bulb for suction ) and an aquarium air pump to blow hot air.
