Print stops after leaving pronterface for a while

Hello, while a print is going, I sometimes navigate away from Pronterface to read the internets or watch a video or do something else on my computer. After a minute or so, the printer stops, and I have to navigate to Pronterface again in order for the print to resume. How do I prevent this from happening?

Stop using a Mac...

Serioulsy I suspect your using Mac and its turning off background tasks.

Don't dump the Mac, dump Pronterface and move into the 21st century with Repetier Host (so much better than Pronterface)

It doesn't matter what OS your computer uses, if you the computer to do other things while a print is running, sooner or later it's going to screw up your print. The best thing to do is print from SD cards and dump host software/computer entirely. 3D printing is unreliable enough without unnecessarily adding the vagaries of host computers to the task.
